suck it trebek

alex trebek is a horrible, horrible man. he's an apparent misogynist who thinks he knows everything. we don't think you do, alex. but we still love the Jeopardy! ...and other things too.

i don't get it

so you're sitting around, watching a metallica video on one of classic vh1's many most-blah-blah-blah countdowns, tuning your harp (cause we all have harps lying around, right?) and then think to yourself, self, you know what would make "enter sandman" even better? a harp. wait, no! two harps! screw all those lyrics and rockin' riffs. because you think that deep down everyone wants to see those boys unplugged and playing at a renaissance festival.

ok, i'm not really sure if that's what harptallica, the all harp metallica cover band, had in mind, but something had to happen to bring this into existence. it's not like harp cover bands are just a given... don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that they're awful, but come on. it's a couple of harps. really?

I'm So Excited

Also: 100 more pages and then I will answer the phone and discuss Harry. Also, three more days until the biggest, hairiest writing deadline of the year has past. Fingers crossed I live to tell... (Why, oh why did Scholastic choose the same week to release the book?! I struggle to work, read and sleep.)

yes, i finished harry potter

no, i will not be discussing it until other people are done with it. i'm not one of those mean people who drive around book store parking lots holding up spoiler signs. bastards...

instead, i'm one of those nice people who is here to entertain you (or at least bring you some entertainment). sure, aquaphase is doing all of the work finding these things, but i had to avoid the internet like the plague for the past few days to avoid spoilers. so now i bring you this fine, fine video:

just a couple more days...

until the big release we here at suck it have been waiting years for. the people over at cracked have compiled their list of 6 questions the last harry potter book had better f#%king answer, along with their predictions. i'm on the fence about quite a few of these, but i guess we'll just have to wait and see. ack!
that is unless you want to go check out the "spoilers" at the digg article.

yes, i'm still alive

so sorry that i haven't been around in forever guys -- i went to colorado to visit family and friends last week and am finally getting back into the swing of things. a few things i learned on my trip:
  • the new denver art museum is soooo nice. lots of stuff from all of my favorites
  • i would make a badass sniper but a shitty close-ranger shooter
  • goats will eat anything you put in front of them
  • something being a 3 hour drive away doesn't seem like such a big deal in the mountains
  • turkeys are mean
  • deer horns are pretty useless cause deer still run out in the middle of the road whenever they damn well please
  • snooze is yummy
  • boulder is an overcrowded shopping center now
  • my grandma is getting old
  • i'm old

all in all, my trip was pretty nice. and sweet nigel the yaris was great for the 30+ hours i spent driving around in him.

i promise, i'll be back to finding interesting things to tell you soon, but for now here's a game for your weekend/workday amusement: bloxorz. crackarific i tell you.

Sing It!!!

OK, so Noah just tipped me off to my new favorite obsession: SingShot. I don't know which I love more, the peeps (like my friend from one of our favorite now-defunct blogs) that are obviously have more than a little fun with it, (Can't decide which of his renditions I like best but I think Love and Rockets might win. Ronnie Milsap's top notch too, though.) or the people who take the karaoke challenge a little, ok, way too, seriously.
